Makoto Miyazaki received his B.S. from Waseda University in 1994, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Research Institute of National Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities (2002-2005), a research associate at the Advanced Research Center for Human Sciences in Waseda University (2005-2007), an assistant professor at the Waseda Institute for Advanced Study (2007-2009), an associate professor at the Research Institute of Kochi University of Technology (2009-2012), and a professor at the Research Institute for Time Study in Ymaguchi University (2012-2015). In 2015, he moved to Shizuoka University as a professor of the faculty of informatics.
